Management Team

Fred Jelich - Co-Owner

Fred, who was born in New York and moved to Wichita in his teens, has spent his whole adult life working on cars, especially in the areas of bodywork and painting. He is a master technician in all facets of collision repair. He opened his first body shop in Wichita in 1982, partnering with his father who had worked in the same field since 1956. His hobbies include motorcycle touring, racing his dirt-bike, jet skiing, sailing, home improvement, and traveling.

Kurt Fowler - Co-Owner

Kurt has spent 34 years in the automobile repair industry. From 1980 to 2002 were he was with the Bulger Cadillac Oldsmobile and Jeep dealership. Kurt has had years of G.M. training, is ASE certified Master mechanic, and specialize in knowledge of vintage to modern Cadillac's. Kurt's hobbies include wildlife conservation, hunting, fishing, restoring Cadillac's of the 50's & 60's, and really enjoy playing Saxophone. Jazz and Blues are his favorites but like all GOOD music. He have been attending St Jude Catholic Church, but have recently moved to the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seaton Parrish. Kurt is currently president of the Central Plains region Cadillac LaSalle club, and treasure of the Ringneck Rustlers, our Sedgwick county chapter of Pheasants Forever.

Dave Schmidt - Body Man & Restoration Tech

Dave has been in the auto body business since 1977. He is ASE Mastertech and also ICAR Certified. His hobbies include singing in the KMMC Chorus and belong to the local Cadillac Club.

Tom Bade - Master Mechanic

Tom graduated from AMTECH institute and started working for Bulger Cadillac Oldsmobile Jeep in 1983. During that time he became an ASE certified technician along with GM master technician training and certification. When AUTOTECH opened in 2002 he became their lead technician, specializing in GM and Cadillac repairs. He enjoys studying music and playing guitar in his church music group.

Joe Craig - Mechanic

Joe has been working with AutoTech since 2006. He enjoys working and problem solving on many different types of vehicles and has a deep passion for what he does. Joe loves to laugh and have a good time with his family and friends in the area. In his spare time he enjoys being outdoors and frequently canoes, ride bikes, camping or anything rough and tough. He also enjoys playing a good game of poker.

Roberto Avalos - Accessories Manager

Robert has been working in cars since 1997. He started working on them professionally in 2006 and started tinting since 2009. He has a passion for customizing car stereos. When Robert works on any car he treats them like if they were his own. He specializes in tinting, auto security system, remote starts, cruise controls and many other automotive electronics.

Clyde Francis - Detailer & Maintenance

Clyde has 9 years of experience in auto body business and his hobbies are being outdoors fishing camping, and shooting pool. He is a member of the air capital pool league of Wichita & has been for 25 years he also spent 28 years in the temporary traffic control business.
